Some of the
most amazing Mayan ruins are located in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
Matter of Fact, there is one site, Xcambo, that is located approximately 5
minutes from the house and you can see the house and
coast from the top of the main pyramid!
Scholars and
archeologists divide the Maya development into three main periods for over 2,500
years. This Mesoamerican civilization covered a vast territory and reached its
zenith between 250-900 AD in present day south-eastern Mexico.
Their legacy
includes some of the finest jewels in today's world of archeology: Palaces,
Observatories, Temple-pyramids and Ceremonial sites. Many of these sites are
still, over a thousand years later, in excellent condition for you to discover
and explore.
May 19 and 20 are the Patron Saint days that are
celebrated at this ruin.
